The second edition celebrating the roots and future of Italian golf
Following celebrations in 2025 marking a century of professional golf in Italy, Herno once again honoured the heritage of Italian golf with the second edition of its Pro-Am competition at the Stresa Alpine Golf Club, which took place on Saturday 20 June 2026.
Supported by the Italian Golf Federation, this event is part of a three-year project conceived by Claudio Marenzi—President of the Stresa Alpine Golf Club and of the Herno Group—to celebrate the origins of the Italian Open tournament, which began in Stresa with its first three editions in 1925, 1926 and 1927.
101 years after the very first professional golf competition, the Pro-Am saw Italian and international stars come together, including Nicolas Colsaerts, Jeff Overton, Aron Zemmer, Gregorio De Leo, Stefano Mazzoli, Jacopo Vecchi Fossa and Lorenzo Scalise, creating a bridge between the place where the tournament was born and the professionals who continue to write its story today.
Rolex once again supported Herno as Official Timekeeper, alongside Nicora 1930, further establishing the Pro-Am as an event dedicated to the heritage and growth of Italian golf.
"History has value when it connects with the present and inspires the future. We want Stresa to become a place where tradition and talent meet, and where young professionals can gain recognition and visibility."
Claudio Marenzi, President of Herno
